It calculates the azimuth and range of any terrestrial location defined by a locator or latitude and longitude or an international prefix or any marker. The programme includes the DXCC list with their relevant geographiacal positions. Three personal lists may be displayed to point antenna towards favourite directions. As an example, two lists are proposed with the package : the french departments and the US States. The Help file describes how to create a personnal list with a simple text editor such as NotePad of Windows. BEAM_DX dialogs with the AZIPOINT program which handles the command of rotor interfaces : POURSAT, FODTRACK, EA4TX, GS232, EASYCOMM, TRAKBOX, KCT, DCU, PROSISTEL and other compatible interfaces such as SATDRIVE. To run BEAM_DX, you need WINWOWS 9x, NT, 2000, XP or more recent. You may install BEAM_DX manually with the ZIP package or automatically with the install executable. To drive your antenna system your need to download and install also AZIPOINT the same way. VERY IMPORTANT : While running this program under VISTA, WIN7, 8, 10 from a sub-directory under the directory Program Files, you will have to start this program as administrator anyway for getting full access to all functions of it, especially the recording of text files, image files, sound files. If you don’t do that, the produced files won’t be accessible because of the UserAccountControl (UAC) of Windows.
