INTERCOM ============== developped by Gabriel RIVAT - F6DQM =================================== INTERCOM is a program initially developped to run with SIMPLEX inside a VHF/UHF repeater which can be interconnected to other repeaters but it may also be used alone or interfaced with an other application which sends ASCII strings of characters on a TCPIP link. The transceiver will then be the remotely programmable equipment whose listening and emitting frequencies will be set on those of the remote repeater to interconnect. INTERCOM purpose is to remotely program Kenwood transceivers such as TMD700/710/TM-V71 or any other transceiver which features UP, DOWN and PTT commands. This is done through DTMF codes that the SYSOP will associate to basical commands. INTERCOM does not decode DTMF codes DTMF itself. This is performed by SIMPLEX which transmit the decoded characters to INTERCOM on the TCPIP link. INTERCOM watches the characters that are emitted by the server (SIMPLEX for example), treats them and transforms them into commands in destination of the transceivers. The available commands are limited to what is really necessary to switch the transceiver on predefined channels. Too many commands could lead to undesired configuration of the transceivers and erratic functionning of the repeater. Please note that INTERCOM does not replace the Kenwood utility software to set the memory contents or VFO contents. It only uses these memories and VFOs and switches them to obtain a desired configuration. The commands UP, DOWN, PTT towards the generic transceiver are sent through the parallel port. It is then mandatory to copy the driver "zntport.sys" in the directory "windows/system32/drivers". This is done automatically in case you install with the "intercom_install.exe". VERY IMPORTANT : While running this program under VISTA, WIN7, 8, 10 from a sub-directory under the directory Program Files, you will have to start this program as administrator anyway for getting full access to all functions of it, especially the recording of text files, image files, sound files. If you don’t do that, the produced files won’t be accessible because of the UserAccountControl (UAC) of Windows. If you don’t want to run the program as admin, you have to install it in a sub-directory which is NOT under C:\Program Files, but anyw
